My Favorite Holiday Tradition

I’m in no rush to decorate my entire house for the holidays the moment Thanksgiving ends. I like to take my time with one exception – my advent calendar. As kids, my parents had a felt Christmas tree hung on the wall and my sister and I would fight over who put up the velcro ornaments every day. My parents gifts us a beautiful advent calendar when we were first married wherein you can hide small gifts. As much as I love our Elf (note the heavy tone of sarcasm), my time and effort is mostly spent to make the advent calendar relevant and fun for the whole family. I take time to find little treasures that make each day exciting. In the past few years, Lego has pulled through with their Star Wars or Harry Potter calendars. Sugarfina was fun last year. This year will obviously be Pokemon. Other great items are cash and lotto tickets. It’s a special tradition that possibly only I enjoy, and that everyone else must endure.

ready to make it Rain{ka}?

I'm an award-winning, expert attorney in Jacksonville, Florida. I represent professional women and their families who are injured or arrested in Florida. I love my job and am proud to have a career, but when I became a mother, I learned that working moms are uniquely tasked with having to achieve "balance." (whatever that is.) What I really wanted was freedom - freedom to practice law in a way that works for me and my family. Through the support and advice of other working moms, I have found success by developing a personal brand that allows me to create my own clients and practice law in a way that gives me freedom. Now it's my turn to help other lawyer moms learn how to do the same and make it Rain(ka).
