Three Ways to Use More Organic Products

I’m not a doctor or a nutritionist, but I have a theory;  We get out of our body what we put in it.  When I was pregnant, I worked hard to eat organically.  I was so particular about what I put into my body.   Then one day it dawned on me, that I am surrounded by chemicals.

Suddenly, I realized that I needed to pay attention to not just what I put inside, but what I put on my body as well.  Duh, right?

I realized that I was using the best products to clean my house, my hair, my skin with the best results, but that these products where all chemical.  So, I slowly started making changes… I started using vinegar and lemon to clean, and changed out all of my hair, and skin cleaners.  (I haven’t quite given up my beloved M.A.C. make-up).  Here are three easy products that you can switch to organic over chemicals.

Face Wash: I have received so many compliments on my skin. Prior to being pregnant, I used Obagi but cut it (and Botox) when I was pregnant.  I went back, but recently I switched to a mix of Obagi and organic products.  Read more here.

Hair: I switched to Aveda Shampure shampoo and conditioner which was a bonus because I have extremely hard water and it leaves my hair so clean and build-up free. I splurge annually on the HUGE bottles, which lasts for a very long time.

Body: LUSH Happy Hippy.  OMG. I love it. For lotion, I am loving Beautycounter right now.

While all of these produces are pricey, I have gotten a solid six (6) months  or more out of all of these products.  I haven’t done my research on organic makeup and nail polish, but I will keep you posted on that.

Organic products will not give you the best results. Period.  Chemicals were developed to do the job that Mother Nature couldn’t do.  But I am done taking the risk.  Are you?

ready to make it Rain{ka}?

I'm an award-winning, expert attorney in Jacksonville, Florida. I represent professional women and their families who are injured or arrested in Florida. I love my job and am proud to have a career, but when I became a mother, I learned that working moms are uniquely tasked with having to achieve "balance." (whatever that is.) What I really wanted was freedom - freedom to practice law in a way that works for me and my family. Through the support and advice of other working moms, I have found success by developing a personal brand that allows me to create my own clients and practice law in a way that gives me freedom. Now it's my turn to help other lawyer moms learn how to do the same and make it Rain(ka).
