Let’s Go Gators

March Madness brought its usual dose of chaos and excitement, but for Gator fans, this year takes the cake. The University of Florida Men’s basketball team claimed victory in the NCAA tournament, and honestly… what a ride it’s been! From buzzer-beaters that left us holding our breath to clutch performances that still have us replaying the highlights, this win is one for the books.

But wait, there’s more good news for the Gator community (and this bit feels pretty personal). At the end of this month, Plata Schott Law is being recognized by the University of Florida Alumni Association as one of the fastest-growing Gator-led businesses in the prestigious Gator 100 honors! I’ll be honest, this recognition feels huge—not just for our firm, but for me as a proud UF alum.

We’ve poured our hearts into building a practice that genuinely helps people, and receiving an award like this from the University that shaped me? It’s hard to put into words how much that means. Gator pride isn’t just about sports victories, it’s about a legacy of excellence that stretches across every field (and courtroom).

Of course, we’re showing up to the awards in full orange and blue gear…because that’s how you do it, right? I’ve found some outfit options you might love too (linked below), because whether you’re celebrating the big NCAA win or just showing off your Gator spirit, there’s always room for some orange and blue in your wardrobe.

Thanks to the Gator nation for always inspiring greatness. Here’s to championships, honors, and an unbeatable community. Go Gators!

ready to make it Rain{ka}?

I'm an award-winning, expert attorney in Jacksonville, Florida. I represent professional women and their families who are injured or arrested in Florida. I love my job and am proud to have a career, but when I became a mother, I learned that working moms are uniquely tasked with having to achieve "balance." (whatever that is.) What I really wanted was freedom - freedom to practice law in a way that works for me and my family. Through the support and advice of other working moms, I have found success by developing a personal brand that allows me to create my own clients and practice law in a way that gives me freedom. Now it's my turn to help other lawyer moms learn how to do the same and make it Rain(ka).
