I’m coming for you, 2019

There is something about this year that has me pumped up.  2018 was a good year. I am beyond excited for the possibilities of 2019, which is why I am so fired up.

Rather than the same boring “lose 10 lbs.” resolutions…I am settling goals to have a ripple effect on my life and the life of my family, friends and and the people who work for me. I recently received my Weekly Planner and Project Planner from Best Self Co. to help me tackle my 2019 goals and have my best year yet.

Goal setting is the BEST way to not only push yourself to imagine success, but to hold yourself accountable and assess your year every year.  It can be extremely personal or (if you’re brave) you can put your goals out for the world to keep you accountable.

If you’re facing a challenge that seems too overwhelming, start small. For example, 5 years ago, I had $20,000 of debt. I set a goal to pay off the smallest debt first, which I did. I built from there. I have been debt-free for about 18 months with not major change in income.

As always, I’m sharing my 2019 goals with you. Follow me @mrsmakeitrainka to see if I achieve success this year.

2019 Goals

  1. Go for walk/to the gym 3x per week
  2. Kick my caffeine addiction and limit coffee to a few cups per week
  3. Finish my book/screenplay
  4. Blog 1x/week
  5. Take more photos
  6. Try my first civil trial
  1. Get a $1million verdict
  2. Pass Criminal Trial Board Certification Exam
  3. Mediate daily
  4. Bake more
  1. Reach 10,000 followers on Instagram
  1. Go on at least one adventure every week with my family
  2. Expand the impact of Plata Schott Law

So, what are your goals, and how are you making a plan and tracking your progress?

Grab 2019 by the horns and dominate.

ready to make it Rain{ka}?

I'm an award-winning, expert attorney in Jacksonville, Florida. I represent professional women and their families who are injured or arrested in Florida. I love my job and am proud to have a career, but when I became a mother, I learned that working moms are uniquely tasked with having to achieve "balance." (whatever that is.) What I really wanted was freedom - freedom to practice law in a way that works for me and my family. Through the support and advice of other working moms, I have found success by developing a personal brand that allows me to create my own clients and practice law in a way that gives me freedom. Now it's my turn to help other lawyer moms learn how to do the same and make it Rain(ka).
